Hello everyone , and today, I’m going to talk about North Korea and its history. I chose this topic because I’m a South Korean, so I’ve always found the relationship between North and South Korea pretty interesting. Even though they are separate countries today, they actually share a long history.
In 1910, Korea was invaded and conquered by Japan and stayed under Japanese rule until 1945. When Japan surrendered at the end of World War II, the Korean Peninsula was freed from 35 years of Japanese control
After the war, Korea was divided at the 38th parallel. The Soviet Union controlled the north, while the United States controlled the south. In 1948, two separate governments were created. North Korea was led by Kim Il Sung, while South Korea was established and led by Syngman Rhee.
Then, on June 25, 1950, North Korea invaded South Korea, starting the Korean War. South Korea was supported by the United Nations, while North Korea was supported mainly by China and the Soviet Union. The fighting continued for three years until an armistice was signed in 1953. The war never officially ended with a peace treaty, and the DMZ was created between the two countries, so the war is technically still going on.
After the war, Kim Il Sung became even more powerful and introduced an ideology called Juche, which focuses on self-reliance. His son, Kim Jong Il, later became leader, followed by his grandson, Kim Jong Un, in 2011.
Also, did you know that even though North Korea looks like their leader is in lead indefinitely, there actually is an election every four to five years, the only problem is, there is always one candidate, and if you vote against the current leader, it is considered a capital treason and it results in being targeted by the secret police, losing your job or being sent to a prison camp.
Speaking of prison camps, how much food do you think North Korean prisoners get fed per day? A: 450 grams. B: 1300 grams. C: 5000 grams. I will give you 10 seconds to think about it. Times up, who thinks it’s A? Who thinks it’s B? Who thinks it’s C? The answer is A,and they usually get fed coarse corn, unpolished grains, and watery, unsalted cabbage soup.
Today, North Korea is known for being highly isolated and for its nuclear and missile programs. So I think relations with South Korea are still complicated and far from being solved
Even after more than 70 years of division, North and South Korea still share the same roots, language, and culture. That’s what makes the history of North Korea especially interesting to me.
Finally, if you want to know more about North Korea, I recommend you to watch a YouTube channel called Charles North Korea. He escaped North Korea twice, so I’m sure he is trust worthy of what he says
Thank you for listening to my presentation!

Hello everyone.
Today, I’m going to talk about my life philosophy from junior high school.
Until I was in second grade, I was so bothered that I couldn’t express myself to friends because I’m naturally shy, so I was always afraid of what people would think of me.
In the third grade, I went into a new class. At first, I was a little nervous, but I met many people who hadn’t talked to me.
I tried to talk to them decisively and then, we shared surprisingly similar values. I felt that it was okay to express myself freely!!
I was able to open my mind.If I keep my heart closed, I may not have this happy life.
The process of struggling and wrestling has formed who I am today.
It was because I have had hardship and joys that I learned “My life is only once, so it is better to enjoy it!!”My dream is to start a business, so I participated in business creation programs this summer vacation. I listened to passionate stories from entrepreneurs.
Supporting an organization and accomplishing a project together as a member of the company is a wonderful and valuable way of working.
But, I thought that I wanted to blaze a trail because life is only once!Life is only once!!
Making use of this experience, I want to try what I want to at full power.Thank you for listening!

私は今年ALに入り、英語ができるみなさんの前での英語のプレゼンはとても緊張しましたが、普段から人前でプレゼンするという機会がないので、いい経験になりました。
また少し自信にもなりました。受賞できて嬉しかったです。
